*1. Research Proposal and Study Plan

Written in English or Chinese, including Research Objectives, Methodology, Research Achievements thus fare.g. title and abstracts of graduation thesis or published paper, list of projects), Understanding of China,Reasons for choosing SHOU, Study Objectives, Academic Goals, Future Research and Career Plan during the program.
SHOU supervisor's e-signature is needed on the research proposal for application submission.
Applicants are required to write the research proposal after discussion with the potential superrisor at SHOU.

*2. 1-inch electronic personal photo. JPG format.

*3. Passport Copy

A clearly visible copy of your valid passport with name, photo, birth date, place of birth, date of issue, and date of expiry.
Visa page is required for applicants who are currently living outside their own country of residence.
The passport validity period must be after March 1st, 2027.
The passport can not be changed after the submission of the application until enrollment.

*4. Non-Criminal Record

Notarized Chinese or English translation is required for non-Chinese and English versions.

Certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.

*7. Academic Transcripts of bachelor degree

Academic Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.

*8. Two Recommendation Letters

Written in English or Chinese by 2 different scholars who hold the title of associate professor or higher in a related academic field. One recommender should be applicant's previous supervisor. The issue date of the recommendation letter should be later than September 1st, 2024. Recommendation letter should include the title, place of work, contact phone number, email address and written signature.

*9. Statement of Financial Support

The statement should be completed by the applicant and his/her sponsor, then be signed, scanned and uploaded online as one of the application documents.

*10. Resume

Written in English or Chinese, including your personal information, educational background, work or intern experience, achievements so far and other information that might be useful.

*11. Foreigner Physical Examination certificate (Valid in 6 months)

Applicants should strictly follow the requirements of the Physical Examination Record For Foreigner and provide a detailed report of blood examination. Incomplete records, those without the signature of the doctor, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid.

12. A Self-introduction Video

-Please speak in English or Chinese.
-The video should be at least 2 minutes long, in MP4 format, and less than 7 MB.
-Include a brief self-introduction, your study plan after enrollment, reasons for applying to this program and university in China, and your plans after graduation.
-You may also highlight your language ability, interests, confidence, and motivation.

*13. Personal Statement

An essay statement written in English or Chinese on one page of A4 size paper. Introduce your motivation of application: describe your interest and enthusiasm for your chosen major, and how your previous studies or experiences related to it. Describe what makes you suitable, such as relevant skills, experience, or achievements gained from previous education, work, and other activities.

*14. Applicants need to first contact the supervisor of SHOU and get the supervisor's approval.

Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit.
